The WSOP kicked off for me yesterday with the $1k NLH event. I just got a brief taste of it though, as I only lasted a total of four hands. I 'squeezed' the button with the King balls and was 4-bet by the original raiser.

Well at present, I'm sitting by the pool in our pretty slick gaff gettin well oiled with the boys, my girlfriend and her friends, en route to Ghost Bar in the Palms (life could be worse).

I agree with Nicky Power that 99% of people will have Phil Ivey in their fantasy 5 for this year's WSOP. That's why I'm leaving him out :)

Looking at the way the points are distributed, it seems to me that you want to have players who'll be competing in the events that will have small fields, like the stud, horse, etc.

There have been many co-hosts on the Irish Poker radio team, but none with this reputation and who play at the highest levels in the game.

It's that time of year when every poker player's thoughts turn to the bright light city.
With the English having such a good year last time round, it's time for us Irish to stand up and be counted.

I haven't been up to a huge amount lately, been grinding online quite a bit with bad results unfortunately. Still running pretty bad, but at least I feel I'm playing well, so it will turn soon enough I'm sure.

My WSOP fantasy league picks are fairly unoriginal. I've chosen players that play all games and specialise to some extent in the less popular variants of poker. This means that the average field size they play will be a lot smaller than their counterparts, who just play NLH or PLO.

It seems like every time I write a blog these days, it starts with something along the lines of 'sorry about the lack of posts', but the only poker I've really played since the Irish Open has been a couple of online MTTs.

I haven't being playing much poker at all lately, apart from one little session where I dropped $5k online. For the most part, I have been sorting out or working on prop bets for the summer.

Well, after weeks of burning the midnight oil, studying the form books, gathering information, listening to gossip and throwing arrows at the dartboard, I've come up with 5 Irish players to follow at the WSOP series.

Well I made a complete balls of my bounty tournament on Boylepoker last night. The first 30 minutes was a rebuy, so I was just jamming it all in pre with any two preflop to try to build up a stack.

Boylepoker.com today launches its WSOPieces promotion to be held at the site from June 14 to 25.

Seeing as this is my first blog for Boylepoker, I better make it worthwhile. I have been studying for my final exams for the past few months and only playing the odd live cash game or online tournament.

I love this festival - JP puts a huge amount of work into getting every detail right and constantly strives for improvements.

I'm pretty sure the last eight days have been my worst ever run in poker. Dropped about $60k over the last 10 days since I got back. It's all been done in $25/50 PLO.

I've been scooping hard all week, unfortunately it's not been of the alcoholic variety but of the Pokerstars Spring Championship variety.

The password for this week's Boylepokerblog.com freeroll at 8pm tonight is doubleup. Best of luck!

Had a pretty cracking weekend and put everything on the back burner until it was over...

It turned out to be one of those special Months here at Boylepoker.
