Golden balls... uncut!

02 December 2009 | Category: by: Darren Naylor

What a couple of weeks!! It started Monday 16th Nov - the Monday before the BOSP II live final in Dublin and my travelling/drinking/poker buddy Chris Salmon appeared in front of the nation on ITV's 'Golden Balls', with Jasper Carrot.

Chris had actually gone down to London to do the show in March but had been contractually bound to secrecy, as to how he had got on. All he had kept saying for months was, "I could have done better but I had a good laugh", and even the IPO weekend had failed to get any more information out of him.

He hadn't been splashing the cash around, so I knew he hadn't won big. In fact I had to lend him a fiver for a KFC in Blackpool the previous Friday, during the GUKPT, (which remains outstanding).

Anyway, the best two bits of the show were actually cut out, as Chris told me after the show had aired. As Chris lied his way into the final by claiming the highest value ball from a Scottish female would-be politician, the 'lady' in question shouted, "Tosser" to Chris as she walked past him, after she was voted out.

Another piece that was edited out, was Chris in the final holding both hands of the dear old poetry-writing charity-working lady in the final saying the words, "Don't worry love, I know you dream of going to Goa to renew your wedding vows and you are on the plane now - I am definitely splitting (the money)."

Fast forward 10 minutes and the lovely old lady leaves shell-shocked, penniless and Goa-less as Chris "steals" the whole £16K and getting no comfort from Chris' final words in the aftermath interview - "No remorse, No remorse." All's fair in love, war, poker and 'Golden Balls' obviously!

Our local game is becoming like some kinda Red Carpet Affair, I am sooo glad that it was Golden Balls that DevilPerch won, if it had been a major tourney I could see him being carried in on a bed by scantily clad girls Hellmuth WSOP style. The thought of Chris in a short skirt eating peeled grapes is enough to put anyone off their Fish and Chips - or in his case "An Indian - Take-a-way" ;)

Hey Dad! nice blog ;) lol,

Yeh nice start! Now get the next entry up quickish........I'm hooked.

Love the blog Darren that is typical of my little brother still owing for a KFC - shall have to have a big sister chat about him paying his debts!
