01:45 IT'S ALL OVER
Less than 10 minutes into the heads up battle and it's all over. It didn't take long for the two to clash with Jay getting 45o in pre-flop only to be called by the A4 of Marcus. The flop brings Jay a gutshot, the turn gives him the double belly-buster but the river pairs the board meaning Marcus Sippe takes down the IPO 2009 for a cool $62250. Jay will take $47490 home to Galway as his "consolation" prize. It's been a great days poker and both players thoroughly deserved their results!
01:35 Heads Up
Mark Troy has just been eliminated after becoming shortstacked and being forced to go all-in from the blinds. He was unfortunate to be dominated by Jay Renehan's AK as he was holding K4. He never caught up and this means that we're heads up with Marcus Sippe having the slight edge with 7.5 million to Jay Renehans 5.5m. You can follow Padraig Parkinson and John O'Shea call the heads up battle by tuning into the live stream.
00:34 Cat runs out of lives
We're now three handed after Cat O'Neill shoves with QJ only to run into AJ. She picks up an open-ender on the flop but fails but the only thing she hits is the rails, in 4th place for $24,736. Padraig Parkinson and Fintan Gavin are still on the live stream doing the play-by-play and watching to see if chipleader Marcus Sippe can bring the title home to Luxembourg.
00:30 And then there 4
Gary Cavazza's great run has come to an end. For a while he was dominating the tables but a few mis-steps cost him dearly in a tournament with this aggressive structure and he found that if you live by the sword, you die by the sword. He shoved with Queen high only to run into Marcus Sippe's Ace-3. An Ace on the turn meant that Gary has gone in 5th place for $19425. The remaining players can see the finishing line and you can follow the progress hand for hand by tuning into the live stream which currently has Padraig Parkinson and Fintan Gavin at the reins.
00:28 Home stretch
If you've been watching the live feed then you will have noticed that Stephen Egan and Colin Rutherford have been the latest players to have been knocked off of this final table. Chipcounts at the moment: Jay Renehan: 4.1m, Mark Troy: 3m, Marcus Sippe: 2.9, Gary Cavazza: 1.675m, Cat O'Neill: 1.575m
23:15 Massive blinds
Blinds are now a massive 100,000/200,000 with 7 players left. Sean Venny was our last player eliminated over an hour a go. Surely it can't go on much longer?
22:36 Cat O'Neill doubles up
Cat O'Neill has just doubled up to 1.1m after she finds JJ and gets it all in against Colm Rutherford who has 66! The board runs 5-A-7 / 3 / A which leaves Colm crippled with 375k.
22:12 Not much activity
The swift elimination of Martin Dunne has done nothing to settle the nerves of the remaining players. Jay Renehan recently doubled up Mark Troy when Jay raised pre-flop and committed himself to make a crying call with 66 after Troy shoved all-in with QQ.
21:50 Neil Channing takes up the commentary
21:47 First player out
Martin Dunne has become the first player out on this final table. His push with AQ was called by AJ and the TK6 flop quite good for him but the Queen on the river sends him to the rails in 9th place for $6,335.
21:46 Final table!!!
We're down to our final 9 players after Jay Renehan made a massive call to knock Stephane Tiab out in 10th place $3,220. On aboard that read 3s7s6d / 5s, Jay checks into Stephane who shoves all-in for 450k into a pot of about 600k. In probably one of the biggest calls we've seen all tournament Jay shoves his chips over the middle and shows Qh6h for second pair with no draw! Stephane can only compliment Renehan as he sheepishly shows 3-9 for bottom pair with no draw. The river is the Ah which means we're down to 9! Chip counts of all players to follow!

20:54 Final table decided
The players for the final table of the IPO 2009 have been decided. We will have some information on the guys and girls shortly. The action begins in roughly 5-10 mins, so keep watching our live streaming for this exciting game.
20:45 O'Neill won't be bullied
Cat O'Neill is upping the aggression on the Final Table bubble. Twice the small blind limps into her big blind and twice she raises. The first time it got through, but the second time she got a caller. A
flop saw the small blind lead into here for 350k. Cat did not flinch slowly and calmly moving here 900k into the middle. No caller this time and she adds half a million without showdown.
20:34 Bedi byes
We're now hand for hand with 10 players remaining after Stephen Egan knocked out the machine that was Rupinder Bedi (pictured left). It can probably be put down to a cooler at this late stage given the blinds were at 40k/80k. Stephen Egan raises with KK and Rupinder who was sitting directly to his left shoves all-in with AJ. Stephen makes the call and despite hitting the Ace on the flop of A-4-9, Rupinder runs out of gas when a King falls on the turn to send him to the rails $3220 better off.
20:18 Lemee Romain gone
Lemee Romain (pictured right) has become our 12th place finisher, taking home $3,220. He became very short stacked and pushed at the first decent spot. His 53o ran into King high and never improved. Down to 11 players.
20:14 John Devlin gone
John Devlin will be wishing he had some of Rupinder's luck after his AQ fails to hold against the ![]()
of Colm Rutherford after the flop came down 8 high. The turn and river brought no help for Colm as he takes home $2780.
19:53 Old man river
Jay Renehan continues his progress towards the chip lead. Another large pot was pushed in his direction when he rivered an ace to crush the dreams of Gary Coulahan who held Qs Qh. Gary busts in 15th which is good for a 2800 pay day.
19:51 Roar of triumph
An ear splitting roar came from Markus Sippe when his
edged ahead of Charly Mouline's (pictured left)
just in the nick of time. There is a lot to be said for going ahead on the river as it seriously reduces the chances of being outdrawn! Markus is still short however with 450k. Charly leaves us in 16th.
19:48 This man can't lose
I think I've watched Rupinder Bedi send about 50 players to the rail this weekend! Mark Lynch (pictured right) has become the latest victim, crashing out in 14th for $2,870. He gets his Ks9d all-in versus Rupinder's AQ. Rupinder once again manages to hold with the board running 8-3-5- / 7/ T as he approaches the 2m mark!
19:40 Stephen Egan knocks out one
Stephen Egan shoves from late position which is called by the even shorter Radot Jonathan. Stephen shows 44 which is slightly ahead of the QJ of Radot. The flop is 7 high but there's a 4 there which mean Radot is hoping to runner runner a straight to split the pot! The turn pairs the board though meaning it's all over for Radot. Stephen Egan now has close to a million chips which should help him survive an orbit or two! Currently 16 players left.
19:37 The chip in town
A 100k chip has now been introduced to the proceedings. While 500k was once a formidable stack it is now below the average which is 750k. 17 players left as we inch towards the final table. Blinds are an action inducing 30k-60k with a 5k running ante.
19:33 There can only be one lucky lady
Cat O'Neill is now the last remaining woman after Rita Tansey found her AJ lagging behind the pocket Queens of Lemee Romain. Rita shoves for just under 500k and she's beat into the pot by Lemee. The flop comes Queen high to give Lemee his set but the Q-T-3 board means Rita has picked up a gutshot. The King doesn't come to the rescue though as Rita crashes out in 19th place!
19:31 A flip is a flip!
Damian Gregory, holding 6s 7c had to be happy when he was called by Stephaine Taib's 5h 5d. With two over's it was the best shape he could expect to be in when the blinds demanded his last 120k find their way to the centre of the felt. An all face card flop offered hope of a chop at the very least but that was as good as it got for Damian as we go to two tables.
19:29 Chip counts from last three tables
(Charly Mouline: 500k)(Rita Tansey: 500k)(Lemee Romain: 370k)(Stephane Taib: 550k)(Mark Lynch: 400k)(Damien Gregory: 250k)(Andrew Walsh: 135k)(John Devlin: 440k)(Sean Venney: 880k)(Joe McClean: 400k)(Gary Coulalhan: 320k)(Martin Dunne: 550k)(Gary Cavazza: 1.9m)(Markus Sippe: 355k)(Stephen Egan: 550k)(Mark Troy: 400k)(Cat O'Neill: 1m)(Colm Rutherford: 800k)(Radot Jonathan: 400k)(Rupinder Bedi: 1.2m)(Jay Renehan: 1.25m)
19:09 Last hand chaos
As the poker clock was ticking down towards break time, all hell was breaking loose on table 35 which saw a 3 way all-in create the largest pot of the tournament thus far. Gary Capazza started the madness by raising to 150k. James McManus goes all-in for 500k and Mick McCloskey then announces that he too is all-in for 300k. With action back to Gary, the Frenchman elects to call. With KQ. He's up against the AQ of James McManus and the Pocket Tens of Mick McCloskey. A celebratory roar is heard from the French Armada that had gathered around the table as the flop comes K-7-5! The turn and river offer no help to either Mick or James who go out in 23rd and 22nd respectively. Players are now on a short break while we chip up the monstrous stack that belongs to Gary who's now the clear chipleader!
19:03 Godwin can't win!
Robert Godwin could not hit either an ace or a ten to overtake Rupinder Bedi's pocket sevens. There was some hope for Robert with the turn offering a gutshot but it was not to be and Rupinder's stack again heads in the right direction.
19:00 Chris Fagan next to go
Chris Fagan a former regular in the infamous Jackpot roe game has been eliminated by Cat O'Neill. After patiently waiting for a hand for the past hour he found one in the from of Qh Qd. Cat O'Neill who is catching some cards at the right time after a tough day three found Ah Kh and moved all in over the top. A Kd Ks 4h flop left Cat in great shape and an the As on the turn sealed the deal. She looks to have close to one million in chips.
18:58 Double up for Rita
Rita Tansey has just got a timely double up at the hands of Radot Thomas. She picks up AK in the blinds and shoves over Radot's raise. Radot calls with Jacks. The flop comes 8-5-K to propel Rita into the lead. An Ace on the turn rubs it in and the river is a blank. 24 players left.
18:46 Our one time Chipleader busts!
Nils Mazeaud who was leading the way on day three has been sent to the rail. Jay Renehen opened under the gun playing almost 780k. Nils next to act knew Jay's range here is small but decided that Jacks were too big a hand to pass playing just over 250k. He raised all in for a further 140k. Jay made the call with two queens and a low board sees him breach the one million mark. Nils is left thinking what might have been.
18:38 Quick Update
There's currently 26 players still fighting it out for dominance here at the Regency Hotel for the Boylesports IPO 2009. Mick McCloskey, Cat O' Neill and Rita Tansey are the last remaining Boyle emblazoned players. All three are relatively comfortable but nowhere near the dizzy heights that Rupinder Bedi has reached. He's still the runaway chipleader with over 1 million chips. Blinds are currently 20k/40k with the Ante coming in at 3k. Usually it's squeaky bum time at this stage of the tournament but the players are really under pressure and can't afford to make any mistakes.
18:27 Lambert out
Kenneth Lambert has become the latest player to hit the rails. His shove under the gun with A9 was called by Radot Jonathan who held KJ. Radot hit top pair on the flop but Kenneth picked up a flush draw to keep his hopes alive. Radot hit a second king on the turn, which compounded the fact that it wasn't going to be Kenneth's day. He missed his draw on the river as the field whittles down even further!
18:22 Rutherford gains some speed
Colin Rutherford moved his 300k over the top of an early position raise only to hear the word call instantly from his opponent. "Pair...?"he asked tentatively. His opponent shook his head and Colin knew immediately what his two queens were up against. Ace King-the classic clash. A flop of 2d 4s 6h was a good one for Colin and the queen on the turn even better guaranteeing him the pot which was over 750k.
18:15 Paul Lenfestey goes in 28th
With just 70k Paul found himself under extreme pressure from the blinds. He looked down at an ace which was enough moving his chips towards the middle. The big blind with 30k already invested decided to flip with the 7h 8h and was rewarded for the gamble flopping a flush leaving Paul dead in the water.
18:04 Triple up for Cat
Cat O'Neill has just got a crucial triple up as we fast approach the big money! It's raised in early position and Cat O'Neill goes all-in. She's subsequently called by the player directly to her left and then the opening raiser also calls given the price he was getting. Cat has Jacks and is up against AQ and 55 in what is a pot of 800k! The flop comes T-4-4. The turn is another 4 and the river is a King which see's Cat O'Neill propel herself up the chip rankings!
17:55 Dempsey's gone
Shane Dempsey has just been eliminated from the BoylePoker IPO. Shane, who I've been told is a regular in the BoylePoker MTTs, found himself short stacked and shoved in late position after it was folded to him. He knew he was in trouble when he was snap-called by Martin Dunne on the button. It was AQ for Martin but Shane was live with 8h9h. The flop comes all black AND Ace high, offering no help to Shane. The 7's on the turn sealed Shanes fate as he left for the rails.
17:31 Mick Take
Mick McCloskey has just outdrawn Seamus Burdun in a pot worth 300k in chips. Seamus moved all in pre-flop with pocket 10's and Mick made the difficult decision to call with his pocket 8's. Mick caught a straight from 4 to 8, with the decisive 6 falling on the river. Seamus has every right to feel hard done by but Mick won't be looking back as his stack grows to over 450k.
17:28 From hero to zero
Shane Dempsey was one of our chipleaders not too long a go but lost a whole chunk of change to Jay Renehan who made a brave calldown with Top Pair after three streets of aggression from Shane. Jay now has over 780k and is one of the emerging chipleaders as we approach the business end of the tournament. As I was talking to Jay, Shane lost another 65k after opening from the button only to have his raise snapped off like a shark would do bait by the small blind who shoved all-in.
17:20 Doke runs out of steam
Dara O'Kearney has just run out of steam, losing a race for the last of his chips when his pocket twos couldn't stay ahead of the Ace-Jack belonging to Rupinder Peti. Peti continues his great run and hasn't doubled up a player in hours! For Dara, it's yet again a case of close but no cigar. He takes home $875 for his troubles. Down to 37 players!
17:17 Table 35
Jay Renehan in seat 7 has just taken down a 500k pot, from player in seat 4 who declined to show his hand. He took the pot when he flipped over his Ah 4d, to make top pair with 9h As 7d 9d Jc. Jay is now sitting with about 800k in chips.
16:53 Another break
In five minutes the players will leave on a 15 minute break while some of the thousand chips are brought in. 49 left and an average stack of 271k with blinds at 8k-16k-1k running ante means there is still plenty of play in the tournament as we approach the serious end of the pay structure.
16:48 And then there were 47...
Jay Renehan and Paul Smallwood are two players who've been pushing around their stacks in recent times. Whenever it's folded to them, they're duly shoving and picking up the substantial figure of 33k chips that are in the pot preflop! The 47 players are about to go on a short break, they'll come back to blinds at 10k/20k with an ante of 2,000 which will be the make or break level for many of the players here!
16:41 Two more down
Jesse May's run in the 2009 IPO has screeched to a halt. With Kh 9s Jesse had to make a move with less than 100k. He was live against the Ad Qs but an all baby board offered no help to either playing meaning the ace high of Damian Gregory was enough to take down the 250k pot. Meanwhile Yann Lenardo received a warm round of applause when his Ad Jd couldn't spike to over take As Qs. The likeable French player exits in 50th.
16:34 Dempsey's Den of Chips
Shane Dempsey is looking good, with a chip stack of 700,000. In a recent hand he pulled a large bulk of his opponents stack, when his KA beat an AJ. The flop was 4c 4s 8d, the turn 6c and the river 4d.
16:25 Sweeney's demise
Warren Sweeney leaves us in 54th position. A big pot developed after Warren moved in from the button with 3h 3s after two up front limpers. The big blind woke up with Kh Kd in the big blind and a king on the flop meant that was the end of that!
16:21 Stall the ball
Play has slowed down to a pace that a snail would be proud of! There's 53 players remaining and blinds are 8,000/16,000 with an ante of 1,000 which is putting a lot of pressure on the players considering the average stack is 251,000. One player who doesn't have to worry about blinds that much is Rupinder Bedi who's our chipleader with just shy of the magic million mark. He's recently moved table we'll keep an eye on him to see whether he can continue to dominate!
16:18 (66) No good again!
It seems two sixes are a dangerous hand to find at the moment. The last three reports of casualties I have received have had that hand. Is it doomed? I doubt it and I am sure there are plenty of the shorter stacks who would be only too happy to peek down at a pair, sixes or not!
Paul Hannigan is the latest man to fall but can have no complaints being taken out by the nuts-
![]()
16:10 Dropping like poker players!
We are down to our last 58 players. Adrian O'Kane is the latest player to fall. He managed to find a pair of sixes to get the last of his chips into the middle. It was a straight race but Ace King can occasionally get moving and did so making top pair on the flop. Down to two outs Adrian persevered pleading for a six. No dice-man down.16:05 Ace neuf....
It is not often I get a chance to practise my French but I was forced to do so when Sebastien Dupier detailed his exit from this years IPO.
Barely taking a breath Sebastien went through his last hour of play in wonderful, frantic detail. The atmosphere here is really special and you can sense that for some of the field this is by far the biggest game and prize pool they have been involved in. Dupier last stand was made with
V the more formidable
. No help and he is sent to the rail. I think it is safe to say he will be back next year!
15:52 Definitely Must Be The Logo
Earlier on Cat O'Neill called upon the luck of the Boyle logo by throwing the Bounty Card onto the table when she needed to catch up. Paul Leckey just proved our theory by throwing in his bounty card as the dealer was deciding his faith on the
9x-Qx board. Leckey held 3-7 having blinded down to the minimum with the one big blind stack! He did hold the 3 of clubs though and the river falls a
giving him a 3 high flush and lives on to fight another day!
There looks to be 3 other Boyle Bounty players in contention, Cat O'Neill, Richard Ashby and Mick McCloskey. Only Richard Ashby is comfortable in chips with the others in the unsteady boat that could see them being eliminated in a single big pot!
15:47 A cool million
Rupinder Bedi refused to offend the Karma Gods informing me that he is not quite at the million mark but is just 30k short. His table is littered with small to medium stacks so he will be hoping to apply the pressure and break that million mark before too long.
15:40 Bounty out
Paul Leckey has just been eliminated. Paul had 18k and A6 before going all-in. With the blinds at 12/6, his opponent Rita Tansui called blind and turned over Q5. She hit a queen on the flop and so, another bounty heads to the bar.
15:35 Gavin Bolger left with one chip
Gavin became involved in a three way all in with ace three after finding himself the table shortstack. When the dust settled his hand was not enough to claim the pot outdrawn slightly by
. He was left with single 1k chip which he promised to turn into 13 million. Quite a task and one that Gavin was not able to complete busting on the next hand when his
could not make a pair. (by Sam Blaneham)
15:30 Got DuPont?
Fabian DuPont just tried to run a bluff against Gary Cavazza. In a raised pot they see a flop of
. Gary leads out for 60k and Fabian moves all-in for 200k. Gary thinks for ages before making a crying call with AK only to find that he's actually dominating the A-T of Fabian! The turn is the
which secures the pot large pot for Gary who concedes that he was considering folding! (by Adam Murphy)

good luck all
