Just exited my fourth tournament of the trip. I'm playing pretty well, but just keep taking the beats in my tournament life.
Yesterday was pretty ill, I played the $1k NLH rebuy. The standard was again awful. Just knitted it up despite being card dead for the first 8 levels. I finally got a run of cards and was lying third in chips with 13 left and nine paid.
With the blinds at 1,200/2,400 I played a
400k pot, we put
30k in each pre and the rest on a
flop with my
v
, the turn was a
and he held, (if I held I would have had 25% chips in play with 12 left).
With
75k left, I find
next hand and get it all in pre v
, obviously a hi flop and I was gone. The Butt has managed to come 2nd in both 1k PLO rebuys for total cashes of $50k which has us nicely ahead for the trip (we're going 50/50 for the trip, although again its quite frustrating he couldn't win one, especially with a $5k rolex watch for the winner).
On the upside, I am winning about $10k in cash. Was playing a 10/20 NLH in the Bellagio the other night, when some billionaire sat down with $60k and tried to butcher it in cold blood as quick as he could. He called me on
rainbow board for $3,200 on the river into about $5k with
, obviously I had
. The pot started out on the flop with with less than $300 in it.
We just sorted our gaff today for the summer and I must say I'm pretty pleased with it. It's only five minutes off the strip, on a PGA championship golf course, has it's own spa (steam rooms sauna etc), swimming pool, bar and a stage for live performances. Have to fly Tom Kitt out for a few gigs. Basically, it's super Balla.
The tournaments keep coming, got a $5k tomorrow, might try one or two qualifiers for the $25k WPT main event which starts Monday. Failure to produce the goods in any of the above and I'll see ya in XS on Sunday night.
