A welcome change

Morocco has been a very welcome change for me. I've traded the hours of endless darkness in Ireland and doing my bollix in the cold, for winning and waking up to breakfast on the balcony in the morning sunshine.

I'm now up $13k, which alas isn't much compared to the damage done in the last few weeks, but at least I'm moving in the right direction. I had literally no clean clothes coming over here, as my washing machine is broken (or I just don't know how to use it, my sister usually does it for me but she has exams, so I was in a bad spot).

So, I headed off to the Moroccan market to get some cheap fake stuff to tide me over. To say I was amazed was an understatement! Instead of my usual hit and run tactics, I spent a couple of hours looking around. There were loads of snake charmers doing their thing with king cobras and lads with monkeys - great stuff altogether.

It kind of has me encouraged to get out and see more, when I'm abroad. The last time I was in Morocco, I didn't see anything more than the inside of hotel rooms and casinos.

I played a €1,350 side event last night in which I actually ran half-decent. I got a stack together but I went out on the last level of the day. I made one or two little mistakes but on the whole, I was happy with how I played. The main event is up tomorrow which is a €2,700 buy-in, might try to satty in to it today.

Nicky Power has joined the Boylepoker team as online pro, which hopefully will mean lots more opportunities to spank him on the golf course. Welcome to the team Nicky!
