Back to Vancouver!!!

I've clocked up a sick amount of air miles. It's one of my favourite things about poker, I love travelling and poker gives me the freedom to do that.

I said in my last blog that I wouldn't be playing any poker in California; well that of course was a lie. I actually put in pretty long hours and for the first time I got up to platinum star on Stars. Yes, I'm a degenerate. I decided to take on the Limit Omaha Hi/Lo games. Being the genius that I am, I tried to learn the game at the highest level. I actually ran horribly in the game but in hindsight, I was probably value anyway.

Thankfully, I still had a few bullets in the account to tackle a couple of soft 25-50 games. I spun the 5k into 28k which is my best session to date, so was delighted with that. I jumped in again yesterday and it was all going to plan until I lost the $16,500 pot, with a set versus his wrap. Another new personal record; it's the biggest pot I've played. I'm not too pissed off though, as I ran real hot the day before.

As much fun as it is taking on the bigger games, it's not the smartest thing in the world. I certainly can't afford to lose that many 16k pots. I'm sort of in a mood like John was describing, although I think he's getting a bit carried away with it. It's usually the same after Vegas and a downswing.

It's just a bit depressing and your head's all over the place. When I get back to Vancouver, I'll be tightening up the reigns, cashing out some money from online sites and dropping back down to grind.

Anyway boarding time! Can't wait to get back to Vancouver to my non-degen mates for the rest of the summer - shall be a great couple months.
