I heard there was a big gambler in the sports on Sunday night, so I decide to head in Monday night and see what the craic is. He sat into the 2/5 NL Hold'em game and made it €50 to go pre every hand. He started off sitting about €15k deep. I couldn't make a hand and was down about €1k in the game.
Eventually, he got sick of the boring nature of Hold'em, and went down to play blackjack. Once he left, all the regulars packed up with their profit and headed for the hills. One thing was for sure, I wasn't leaving the building till he did.
I went to him at the blackjack table and tried to get him to come back up. He wanted some assurances that there would be some gambling, complaining that everyone was just folding. At this point I took the option to tell him about PLO. He said he'd never played it but he'd give it a spin, however he didn't like the idea of pot limit; he wanted no limit.
We went up and it started at 5/10, within an hour it was 200/200. He then opened for €200 to €500 blind every hand. With every pot a minimum of €1k, there were regularly €10/15k pots going off.
Eventually we got it in pre for a little over

xx for a
€20k pot which I am drawing fully dead in. At this point I was thinking I am going to do my roll to a guy who doesn't really even know the rules, so much for a game of skill.
I battled back and using my experience of knowing the rules I was able to finish the night up €5k. He sat down with €45k after he had crushed the black, so when he walked away with about €40k it felt like a major fail, but I couldn't' blame anything but my luck.
I returned the next night and the same game ran. However, this time the pond was a little more populated with the likes of Tom Hanlon, Dave Callaghan and the Doc swimming about. The action went off at a fast pace with every player having to ante €200, and our Australian friend making it €500 to go blind each hand. Meaning there was €2/3k in there pre-flop every time.
Wasn't long before there was €15k pots going off, I was running much better that night and seemed to win my fair share. There were some very funny hands. On one occasion he bet every street dark to the turn, 500 pre, 1k on the flop and 2k on the turn. When he got min-raised by Dave Callaghan to €4k on the turn, he goes to look at his cards then exclaims "Meh I don't need to look for just €2k", and then calls.
Another hand, he calls my

board for a very close to the nut low. He really didn't give a shite about money, which was pretty cool for the rest of us.
Eventually I got it in with him for an €80k pot. I believe this is the biggest pot ever played in an Irish casino. Funnily enough neither of us had the nuts, it was my 2nd nut straight v his set. The river blanked and he announced "House?" My heart stopped for a second, I had to take a 2nd look. There was no pair on the board, he tables 3 of his cards to make a house, "No no Sir, you can only use 2." Ship that mother fucking €80k pot over here!!!!!!! By far the biggest pot I have ever won.
My plan for August was to win enough to pay for the trip I am off on, on Saturday. It goes, Vilamoura for the EPT, Cannaes for Partouche poker tour main event, and finally, Marrakech for a big festival there. Thanks to the other night I am free rolling on this trip which I am pretty happy about. I feel I am playing very well so I'm confident of picking up a result or two. Had a nice 3rd last night in the Boylepoker scalps event. The final one is on tonight. Might win this one.

Is it true you went bust and he gave you €20k to get back in the game
