Well, when I came back, I put about $7k on both Boylepoker and another site. The plan was to grind it up.
I stuck to the grinding plan for about a week at 2/4 and 3/6. Having lost about $3k of it, I kind of lost patience. After losing a further $8k of it on 5/10, my patience grew even shorter and the last $3k of it went at 10/20.
I got fairly unlucky, so I'm not really too bothered. Heading back up to Dublin today and will stick a good chunk on Boylepoker tomorrow and get back to the grind. I think I will stick to 5/10 when I get back.
Despite doing my nut, I have really enjoyed the few days in Kerry because I got out for three games of golf. I've steadily been getting better, improving by about 5 shots everyday - if only I could keep this up!
The first day I played Dooks which is a links course but the gale force winds made it near impossible. Played it a few days later in calm weather and found it a lot more manageable. I also played a new course called Skellig Bay, which is a new course beside the world famous Waterville links. If anyone is down in the area, I'd highly recommend it. It's a very challenging course, with some really cool holes. Other such normal activities included hill-walking and going for family dinners. I'm now fully normalised and looking forward to returning to the Smoke - well for a few days anyway.
Martin Silke is card room manager for a new casino in Castlebar. They're having the grand opening this Saturday and I'm going to head down. With a good tournament and lively cash promise, I'm hoping for a change in my luck before I head into the west.
