Day 14/15 - Vegas bites back

27 June 2009 | Category: by: John O'Shea

Well, I played the $2.5k limit Hi-Lo. I made five hands of day 2 before exiting after another 9 hour slog and no pay day. God I hate limit and will not be playing another limit tournament.

Most of the lads were heading off to a barbeque in Neil Channing's Black Belt house. I was very tempted, but the only problem was that it was pissing raining and I mean lashing. Some lol; organise a bbq for the middle of summer in Vegas and the weather is an issue, now that's running bad.

I said I'd play a bit online and see how the games were. The games were great, but I was running like death and did $15k before I couldn't take anymore. I chilled out with a bit of bowling with the lads in the evening and it wasn't long before we were playing $300 a game. You'd be surprised how quickly people improve at random stuff when its worth a few k.

Poker-wise I have gone from being $40k ahead for the trip to $10k now. I find this funny, as I have been playing great and I was kind of walking around patting myself on the back until a little voice in my head said, 'Hey listen dickhead, you have just dropped a casual $30k in the last 5 days'.

Back for day 2 of the PLO Hi-Lo $1500 event, so would be nice to stop the rot with cash.
