Day 8/9/10 - First Cash!!!

Well I said we need some deep runs from the Boylepoker boys and myself and Marty didn't quite go deep, but we both cashed.

I played so well on day two, it was a pity I just couldn't find one or 2 hands at the crucial time. I got up to 210k at the height of my powers, 500k would have been average at the final table, so a double up would have had me sorted, as I was chipping nice and slowly.

This was a field nobody was going to run over, as the caliber of player left in the last 30 was very, very high. However, despite playing in this tough field, I still felt I was one of the stronger players. All in all I'm very happy with the result and with how I played.

If I keep playing like this, good things will happen. I had now been in Vegas eight days and played over 100 hours of poker (30 hrs of tournaments, 20 hours live cash and about 50 hours online).

I had a few beers back in the apartment with Reesy, talked about poker obv. When we go away on these trips me and him like to play a lot (minimum 10 hours a day), so there always so many hands to discuss and for both of us to have a top class Omaha player there to discuss hands with at the end of each day is invaluable and improves both of our games to no end.

We also get a little competitive, as to who can get the bigger account. We both started with less than $5k in an account. Now I have $38kish and he's just below $30k. All in all this co-operative/competitive dynamic has led to trips away together generally being super-profitable and educational for us both.

We headed up to Tao nightclub in the Venetian and met some school friends, where we had a good blow out. It was an unreal night of fun and made it home at 8 am. I'm just resting up today before the biggest event of the trip for me personally, the $10k PLO. I'm ahead $40k for the trip so far, but this will take a nice bite into my profits.
