Every Cloud....

Hey there. Well as we said last year after the Irish Open - there's always next year. It was a disgusting performance from more or less everyone I know. I don't think anyone I know made it even close to day two.

As far as my tournament went, I got a semi-tough table, with Channing to my immediate left of course. He seemed determined to ruin my day by either calling or reraising every time I entered a pot. For this reason, I just decided to rock it up and play honestly. My patience was rewarded at the 200-400 level where I was able to get my 15k in preflop with AA vs. QQ. I was drawing fully dead by the turn, HORSEPISS.

I was a bit more annoyed than I usually am when I bust out of tournaments; this was probably because I knew my QQ holding opponent was about 30/1 to make it through day one even with his 50k.

Luckily, City West had the bars open on Good Friday and since everyone I knew was knocked out, we had some rather loose fun. The next day the €300 PLO side event was on, but after a quick gym session I wasn't feeling up for it so decided to play the online PLO tourneys on a certain site that shall remain nameless. I played the $5k, $500 and $55 PLO events and managed a small cash in the $55...painful stuff.

The next day the €1,500 NLH event was on but there was so much good stuff online I decided once again to hit the laptop (I'm aware how creepy it is to go to the Irish Open and spend 2/3 nights on your laptop, but if it feels so right then it can't be wrong).

I ended up final tabling the $215 300k guarantee on Party for $5,400 and finishing second in the $320 250k guarantee on Boylepoker for $34k as well as a few small cashes on Stars. A good nights work for sure, and more pleasing than the money is further proving Oshy wrong about my tournament skillage.

Also, congratulations to Jude Ainsworth who won just under $1mil last night in the $10k SCOOP event. Although I've never played with Jude his results speak for themselves and from what I saw last night he's an animal at the table.

We're also looking to set up a Ryder Cup type thing with The Dublin Team vs. The Galway Team; both teams have a lot of good players so I think this could be a sick match....if I could be Derek "greenrizla" Murray in a heads-up dual I think I'd just retire happy...Rizla you are my Everest.

Off to Spain on Friday with tennis buddies (don't worry it wont get too normal - O'Dea's coming) so I'm putting in three healthy days of grinding it out in the gym and on the laptop till then.

Later,

Reesy

It's still wrong. Although I can't argue with the $40k you won doing it.
