Farewell to the Bahamas

Leaving the Bahamas and moving onto WPT Biloxi on the 13th. Poker wise, the Bahamas went well enough - despite not running too great. I cashed in the main event for $20k (1/10) which is a nice start to the year.

Not as nice as it looks though. I didn't pay into the main but if I did I would have had $18,500 of buy-ins and $20k of cashes. It's hardly a massive success but given the $10k buy-in (made up 20% of my roll); it was nice not to lose it.

I played the $5k PLO, $1k 6 max PLO and the $2k HU PLO as well. The standard in the $5k PLO was very soft and weirdly much worse than the other event, where the standard was reasonable high.

Won my first HU match but got my roots taken in the 2nd match. I take back what I said about the resort here, it's actually fairly incredible if you do venture outside your hotel/poker room. The pool is a full-on water park and one particular slide is incredible. You go down it on a tube and at the bottom you float through a shark tank.

Tomorrow is my last day, so I'm going to give poker a rest and try to explore the place further.

I won a little online this week. So for the first time in a while, I had a winning poker week. I won $4,800 playing poker but lost $4,500 in sports betting, so basically broke even for the week.

The gym is going well so far and I've been in there for the first 5 days in a row, achieving more than my 25km goal for the week. I actually found going to the gym first thing in the morning was a great way to prepare for poker. Despite not making any more money, I'm feeling a lot better about my poker, roll on Biloxi...
