From San Diego to Vegas

After the Irish Open, a few poker-playing mates and me had planned to go to America for two and a half months, the first month of which was to be spent in San Diego staying about a five minute walk from the beach. The second month we had planned for Vegas and would leave the last two weeks open and decide later.

I had hoped to play a good bit online for the month in San Diego but the internet connection was a bit dodgy in the apartment so I played very little, but it is a real party town and laid back, and I would recommend it to anyone to go for a holiday. The poker had to wait then until Vegas.

On the second last night there, we ended up having a party in the apartment, then the receptionist rang saying we were checking out that day and we had to get out in an hour. We were all in absolute bits from the previous night and were not in the best form to pack and try to organise a car to go to Vegas. FML again.

So off we went on a road trip to Vegas and arrived on the 11th June, stayed two nights in Caesars Palace and then moved into our penthouse apartment which is pretty sweet and looks out over the fountains at the Bellagio.

Two weeks in and I have played only two tournaments, one in the Venetian where I got two outered on the river for a pretty big stack at the time. I am just back from the daily $1k in the Bellagio where a guy called my c-bet with a gutshot to the shite end of a straight and binks the turn which gives me up and down straight draw and a flush draw and I obviously brick out.

Up a bit so far in the cash, mostly been playin 2-5 and some 5-10 PLO at the Venetian, but a few mad nights out and drunken degeneracy at the blackjack tables easily wiped out any profits I may have had.

My plan at the minute is to play the $1500 WSOP event on Saturday and then play the Main Event but my plans can easily change and I might just grind the cash for a while.
