Getting scalped left, right, and centre!!!

Well last weekend just went from bad to worse. On Friday, I was doing alright online until a disastrous period hit. I ran pretty bad, but certainly didn't minimise my losses and made some very poor decisions. I dropped $50k of the $60k I was up for the last 2 weeks.

I woke up the next morning and had to drive down to Cork for day 2 of the Irish Poker Classic in the Macau. It's always a weird feeling when you wake up after a massive loss; it feels like someone has removed one of your kidneys or something.

The plan was simple, win in Cork to get out. I really wanted to go to the Dublin game in Croker, so I was kind of in the mood to get a stack or fuck off. I made it to day 3 short on chips, which was basically the worse case scenario.

Last year I said it was the best structure I have ever played. I was disappointed to see that they had tinkered with perfection. They gave the players chip_icon.jpg20k instead of chip_icon.jpg15k. In fairness to the Macau, you can't be too critical when their only motive was to give the players more play, but I think any more than chip_icon.jpg15k with a 75 minute clock is unnecessary. In my opinion, the bubble should burst about 2 hours before the end of the day; in this case it would have been midway through day 3. The players agreed to pay all returning for day 3, which was the last 18.

I stayed in Sean Prendeville's room on the Saturday. The car-park I was parked in was closed so I couldn't get my case out. Mr. X came back with us to the room. Mr. X was extremely drunk. I threw my clothes into the corner and tried to get some sleep. Mr. X started into a bottle of wine he found in the room. The last thing I remember before going to sleep was Mr. X falling over toward the corner my clothes were in.

I woke up and my clothes were covered in red wine, water, (I left a pint of water beside the bed), and em er well, he pissed himself. So with him rolling around in the corner, I assume some managed to find its way onto my garments.

I somehow had to get to my car, which was about a 10 minute walk away, to get fresh clothes. Mr. X came along for the walk, he was some site. He hadn't shaved in about a week, urine stained jeans, a cut on his forehead from his previous night's fall and the remaining 1/2 a bottle of wine in his left hand. He tried a few chat up lines with some broads on the walk, for some reason they seemed v scared of him!!!

I got back and exited with Unkown suit QUnkown suit Q v Unkown suit KUnkown suit Q to finish in 15th, I was short at the time playing 6 BB's. I exited 3 minutes before throw in between Dublin and Cork, which was another painful experience, especially when you're surrounded by a dozen Cork langers.

I played a very interesting live poker game last night. I don't want to say too much as there may be another installment. I'll put it in Friday's blog, definitely one of the weirdest/ coolest/ most bizarre poker experiences I have ever had!!!
