Just like Serie A, the Serie BA crown was claimed by a heads up specialist. This time, WSOP debutant Digiman took the spoils and increased his bulging bankroll by over $2k.
Pauric had to fend off some tough competition and it was neck and neck from week one. Digi finally got a little breathing space to win the league by four racking up 10 wins along the way.
Pauric commented, "I really enjoyed the league. It was excellently run by Mr Flushdraw and he cracked the whip when needed! I've been playing a lot of heads up lately, but cash heads up plays much deeper. My <10BB game has improved due to the league and I'm hoping to put it to use when I get to the business end of some big buy-in tournaments in the future!"
Digiman had set the pace with four wins from five and was installed as the favourite before we reached the halfway stage and he proved the bookies wise by taking the title.
The other money spots in the Serie B league were occupied by Macspower ($1,140) and Wolves ($646). Both players suffered five loses, but in a league which included White knight, TommyGunne and Tom "thenutpeddler" Kitt, it was never going to be plain sailing for anyone.
Surprisingly no challenge came from Hectorjelly or thechamp87. Digiman added "All donations are welcome and I'll have a couple of drinks on HJ and thechamps money ;-) I was expecting a tough challenge from both, but in the end it was Macspower who provided by toughest challenge and that was two points I well and truly earned".
When asked what his plan for the money was, Digi answered in two words..."VEGAS BABY!". Unfortunately, Digiman didn't fulfil his dream of taking down the World Series and $8.5 million but after satelliting into the game and winning $2k just before the trip, it's a helluva way to spend a few weeks in July!
Not all of his winnings went on the Vegas trip though and I'd also like to thank Pauric for taking time out to send myself and Gillian a little something for which I'm extremely grateful.
