Serie D was so open from the start and never really had a front runner. The top spots chopped and changed throughout and in the end, pkaces impressive eight wins from nine games secured the title and $636. The other two top spots were taken by max power and premierstone who bagged almost $600 between them.
Coming into the last few weeks, any player from the chasing pack could have come through, with some strong players like conbro and pistolpeter waiting to pounce on any slip ups from the leaders. Speaking after the win, pkaces confirmed it was a tough league, "I went in trying to win a few games but never expected to win outright. pistolpeter was a nightmare, he pounced on any weakness and was very hard to play against."
One thing for sure though is that pkaces winnings are not all locked up, he added, "I finally got myself an Xbox 360 and put the rest into topping up the bankroll (or in other words I will be disbursing it out within the poker community!!!)".
There's was also an interesting basement battle with zuroph unable to work his magic and climb off the bottom. He did stay till the end though and never gave up the battle or dropped out. Wp sir :-)
On a personal level, I'd like to say thanks to everyone that helped the league run smoothly, and to each person that put the hours and effort in, not only for personal gain, but also to ensure fairness across the board and complete what they started.
Big thanks to Ciaran Corbett for the help he gave me, and letting me have a free reign on how I wanted to run the league. The $10k added by Boylepoker was fantastic for this league and for the people involved. Ciaran and co were a pleasure to work with, and he also added money to the Baby bounty bash I organised. I would love to run this again next year with the help of Ciaran and crew as I was never left wanting whenever I needed any help.
