High roller

They say you aren't a great champion until you retain the title, so I was delighted when for the second time I took down Boylepoker's $500 'High Roller' tournament for $13,200.

It's come at a good time too. I've been on a good run lately and it's always nice to win a tournament. Such a great feeling when you're the last player sitting at the table.

The final table was great fun because I literally couldn't lose a hand. It's probably the best I've ever run. I lost a pot at the start of the FT when I shoved my Unkown suit 9Unkown suit 5 into Unkown suit KUnkown suit Q in the blinds. It was pretty funny. I was just telling Nick 'Salamandero' Heather on MSN that I'm a rock these days and then I got caught doing that. I guess my speech play wasn't overheard by your man, who made a good call.

After that I was low and just started banging my chips in. It sort of feels like a freeroll when you come back from a low stack. So was playing pretty loose, but didn't really matter because I was winning every pot there was a showdown. A few hands I can think off the top of my head are 1010 > QQ, AQ > AK, KQ > A10, QQ > A10, A8 > AQ and the finally my walking stick 7s held versus Unkown suit AUnkown suit 3 to take it down.

There's not really much else to report. The UKIPT is on this week and have to say I really miss the Irish tournaments when I've been away. They are great craic and I'm looking forward to the IPO and Winter Festival when I get back.
