I didn't get the blog up on Monday, as a result of a very heavy weekend - an unreal weekend in Galway actually. Poker-wise, there's not much to report.. other than me just winning the tournament and our team finishing the 3rd!
Fair play to the Elington, they put on a great show and the structure of the team event made for an unreal finish. With six people left everything was left to play for, including all three spots in the team event. At the final table I was more concerned with stopping the Taylors, as opposed to winning it myself. However, we all know how well Rob Taylor runs and I couldn't manage to dog him.
John Weafer did dispatch both Taylors, to win the honour of playing me hu. John had been very good all through the several hours table time that I had with him, so it made sense to do some business. We decided whoever won the tournament would get €3,5k and 2nd scooped €2k. However, the winner would also secure 3rd for his team, with the team getting €2,7k.
We changed it to €5k for first and €3,2k. I saw great cards heads up and eventually won. I had to share the €5k with the team six ways, which meant I probably could have made more for the weekend rubbing my balls off a cheese grater. This was the first live tournament I have ever won, so I was delighted with myself.
Loads of us had backed Ireland at -6 very heavy in the rugger, so everyone was in a great mood and we went for a big slap up. We offered Noel Hayes €120 to eat a bowl of mustard, after one spoon full he gave up, which provided a lot of free entertainment. From there we jumped into a limo (balla or what? To be honest the hotel we were in had a free ones for guests) and we're off to the Eglington to collect some side bets that we had made with other teams on 'last longest' bets.
At this point I knew the night was a right off, as we decided that we would probably need €1k a man to have a good night instead of dropping the loot off. We pulled up at the some club in the limo thinking we were well slick. I was picking up some nice reads from the locals that they just thought we were a pack of tossers, nice read by them.
The rest of the night is a blur obv, but had a great game of cards back in the Eglington. Don't get to play pissed much anymore as a result of my barring from all Dublin casinos when drunk, so made full use of this opportunity. I did manage to stay off the table despite many pleas for an old dance. I got really unlucky in the game and lost what I didn't spend of money I set out with. So I arrived home in the hotel at 10 o clock broke, but what a weekend!!
Won the rake race level 3 on Boylepoker and got a few quid over the weekend from poker and sports bets, so did just under $25k for the week. I'm taking this week very easy on the poker!
Dance B1tch
We were chilling in the hotel room on Sunday, I'd left my MSN logged in and was letting the lads run riot on it, when Flipper shouts over that Chris (DBC) lad, wants €35 transferred to him. Now I'm a fair man, but there's no such thing as a free lunch. So we agreed that if he sang 'I'm a little teapot short and stout...' and obv danced along to it, I would ship him the cash. So we set up the web cam and waited for Chris to do his performance. He wanted cash up front, but we couldn't do this. However to prove I was good for it, I whipped €4k large out of my pocket and shoved it in the web cam. Peeled €35 off the top and gave him 2 minutes to perform. When there was no performance I ripped the €35 up, some quality e-bullying. We were all rolling around in laughter for about 20 minutes, except for O' Dea who thought I had ripped up a bunch of €50's!

possibly the funniest blog ever
