The IPO truly is a unique event, and manages to capture the experience of a big buy-in event, for a fraction of the entry fee that you would normally associate with a tournament of this scale. I've said this before about Irish tournaments - what I think sets them apart from other tournaments on the calendar is that while everyone obviously wants to do well, people don't seem to be just as annoyed when they bust out, because of the social scene around the Irish events.
This is especially true of the IPO I think. It has a big enough prizepool to ensure that even the top pros who come will still be giving their all to win it, but a small enough entry fee so that no one who busts need be too distraught, I know that everyone there will have a great weekend regardless of their finishing position and I should know since I managed to finish one place outside the money last year.
The atmosphere around the hotel last year was fantastic all weekend, and I expect it to be even better this year. It's a fantastic venue, and will be great to see the tournament held there for a third year running.
This is the third time I have played the IPO, and if it's half as enjoyable as the first two years, then it's going be a pretty good weekend. Hope to see you all there!

When will we know the side events and their structures?
Wondering what day to reg on and maybe a side event look too tempting and swing it......
