Irish Open time

Well, it's Easter time and when the normys are enjoying the long weekend, while pretending that they are somewhat religious, the poker creeps are foaming at the mouth with the Irish Open kicking off.

They've moved it back to the Burlington from Citywest, which I think is a good decision. The first year I played the IO, it was in the Burlington and I'm glad to see it back there. The Citywest room was very impressive but you're somewhat stranded out there, and for people travelling to the tournament I think it's a much better location.

I really hope I can get a run at it again, I finished 13th the year before last which was painful enough. Last year I never got going. I remember going into the bar and seeing pretty much every good player already in there. Nobody I knew went deep - so hopefully it'll be different this year.

I haven't played much online since Barca. I always try and play a bit of live poker to get the feel for it (i.e. sitting there bored) before big tourneys, so I played the sports satellite on Tuesday and the Fitz end of month on Thursday. I literally bubbled the IO ticket on Tuesday, with a cruel two outer on the river; those fucking 6s are still haunting me. Went out 30th ish in the Fitz, when some donkey called my AJ ship with KQ - nh maccer.

Been taking it fairly handy this week, went for a game of golf with John, Adam and Mr. Boylepoker himself, Paul Spillane. Myself and Fallon got fairly owned on the course, with Spillane and John's team scooping all bets.

Unfortunately this is a fairly boring blog but the next will hopefully more entertaining with a story of how I won the IO or how I got kicked out of the Burlington. GL to all playing it!
