I had a great week poker wise and managed to cash in on two ECOOP events. The highlight was my second place finish in the 1k PLO for 31k. Unfortunately I couldn't get the title and the extra 20k for first.
The winner was a good player called 'Donkaments' (hence the title of this blog). He basically won it with a sick bluff vs. me, when 3 way. I played the hand pretty badly to be honest, but it was a sick shove from him on the river. Still, I'm obviously delighted with second place, after the initial disappointment.
The tournament just generally went well for me from the start; hit a free-roll early on for a big pot, when we both had nut straights. Then went on a sick heater with about 12 left, which unfortunately resulted in me taking the roots of the elusive Dave 'Halibut' Callaghan.
It was a pretty filthy dogging, which is hard to do to 'the butt' because he pretty much never has it. I then ran up the stack to a big CL, until it started to go wrong three handed, and I eventually lost a flip HU.
Actually nearly didn't even play it after Thursday's sickness. I was flying along in the 750 NLH tourney. Then boom, back to back hands, my ![]()

, which sent me packing in 35th ish. 'Never again will I play these tourneys', I said. Although I was already registered for Saturday, so it's funny how things pan out sometimes.
I'm really looking forward to the rest of the ECOOP events now; the PLO $100 re-buy and $300 Six Max are next on my list. So hopefully I can keep up the 100% cash record.
It was a different "never again" on Sunday, I'm still feeling the effects of a pretty wild Saturday night. That's the sweet thing about the tourneys over here; they finish at about 9/10 pm, so you can still go out on the piss.
I had said to my mates from the start that if I final tabled, I'd take them for steak dinner and it was well worth it to get the rowdy rail going.

Good game m8. You played well. Hope to see you HU again tonight in the PLO rebuy.
Cheers
