Well I'm still alive in the WSOP main event. I am playing again on Friday and have 132,400 chips with the average being about 90,000 I think; so I'm in decent shape, especially with the blinds being at 600-1200-100 when we go back.
Other Irish players still in are Marty, Nicky Power, Andy Black, Albert and Big Mick G. I'm sure there are others but they're the only ones I can really think of at the moment.
I know Andy has a nice 220k and Mick has the same as me, with the others having a bit less but still in okay shape as far as I can remember. It's good to see a fair few Irish still left in the hunt since I feel overall the WSOP this year has been a bit disappointing from an Irish perspective (especially for me), and it'd be nice to see at least one of us make a really deep run.
There are around 2000 players now going into Friday with 650 making the money. I predict the usual pain for myself. In keeping with my trip so far, I'll look to peel off a 731st or maybe 666th if I'm lucky. Hopefully I can use my vast experience on bubbling to my advantage though and limp in for minimum cash this time.
Apart from the main event I haven't really played at all over the last few days and don't really plan to either. The lads have been partying a fair bit since their main event exits but I've been pretty good about resting up and getting to the gym a bit to maintain focus.
We went to Lance Burton Master Magician last night in the Monte Carlo and it was UNREAL. I've always liked magic and stuff and even if you aren't really into it at all I'd recommend it. If you're going to Vegas, go see Lance, some of his antics are just sick.
Anyway, I think I'll post up a few of the hands that got me to 132k another day including one horrific call I made and also one very sick bluff - getting my whole 100k stack in on the river after reraising preflop and barrelling all three streets. I'll probably do those hands and some from day 3 after day 3 itself. Having said that, if I do bubble it (which I fully intend to) I might not have the will.
