Made it back 'home' to Vancouver, although I'm really not sure if it feels like home. God knows it really doesn't feel like a holiday either, sure who fucking cares anyway!
Anyway, it wasn't long before I got away again. Went up to Whistler with some mates during Saturday and stayed that night - what a place! I'd heard great things but was still amazed by it.
It was a real winter wonderland. I was on alarm clock duty, so obviously we missed the planned early bus, but we still made it up for a good days boarding. The snow was perfect, so it was a great day, followed by a very loose night.
I've put in some good hours since I got back. Really happy with how I'm playing and far more important, how I'm running. Clocked in a nice winning week in cash and started this week with a winning day too. I played the Boylepoker 'Monday Night PLO $100 Freeze-Out' today, mainly just so I could put in some hours.
I'm incredibly lazy and if I log on and the games aren't great, I find myself leaving or constantly taking breaks. So, my latest genius scheme is to register for a tourney that starts at a reasonable time, then I have to be at my lappy grinding.
The added bonus the other day was that I ended up finishing 3rd for a tasty $1500. It's a cracking tourney with great structure and 6-max tables, which are the way PLO games should be played IMO. So I'd recommend it to anyone who fancies a PLO tourney. It was a bit disappointing I didn't get the scoop.
Was just thinking at the FT, that I can't even remember my last tourney win. It's probably a couple years back. It's not that crazy I suppose, as I don't play many small fields but it would still be nice to get a 1st for a change. A bracelet in the summer would suffice I reckon!
Not much else to report; roughly planning a trip to the States next month and there's talk of squeezing in Mardis Gras and then onto the NAPT in the Venetian in Vegas. Still not sure though, we'll see how the next few weeks go.
Oh, just before I finish, had a close call there on Saturday. I nearly had a code RED. I was just in from boarding and going for a quick nap before a session. My boxers were wet, so I went to change them and didn't realise that hadn't taken off my knee high black ski socks!! Now, there's no man alive who can be naked (bar black socks) and not look like a creepy paedophile (stolen from somewhere).
So just think what knee high black ski socks would have done for my rep, there were even girls present, and I shudder even at the thought of it. Thankfully, I came to my senses at the last second and averted any danger.
Just a quick warning to those of you who are contemplating 'testing' this. It's like saying Candy Man seven times in the mirror, I know you won't be able to resist checking, but just beware as you mightn't be able to look in the mirror the same way again.
