It's been a decent grind so far this week. I'm up about $5k from playing 2/4, 5/10 and 10/20. I have been playing much better and the games have been half decent. I'm going to stick at this for the next few days.
The lads from 'The Poker Show' gave me a buzz on Tuesday night, which was a good laugh. It was a very good show and definitely worth listening to when you're grinding away. However after Jesse's description of me as this fat over-weight booze hound, I decided I'd better talk about my fitness plans more (even though I thought I was rattling on about them enough as it was).
As I said I'm trying to get in good shape by the time Vegas comes around and now I have an added incentive. Myself and Donal Norton have agreed to play a tennis match (1 set), when we're in Vegas for $1k (there will also be without doubt a few double or nothings).
We're both quite bad at the game, so I need to sharpen up and get fitter, as it will be killer in the Vegas heat. Fitness wise I am running an 8k race in Dublin Docklands on the 19th of May. I'm currently doing 8k in roughly 38:24:73, the goal is to give sub 35 minutes a run for it's money, although I will be secretly delighted if I go under 36 minutes.
Also in case anyone hasn't seen it, Reesy put up a PLO hand on the blog that he had played and his thought process behind it. I wouldn't dare do one of these myself, as my plan is usually to not know where I am myself, giving my opponent no chance of knowing either, then spring an 'all in' on him and hope the timer runs out before he figures my game out.
Reesy does a very good job at explaining quite a complex hand and in the end wins a big pot, where as most people would have either folded the flop or had to win a 50/50.

"I am running an 8k race in Dublin Docklands"
Is that what they're calling it now? ;-)
