Well that's the slogan for the Caribbean anyway but I'd have to disagree with it, as there wasn't anything easygoing about my week at the PCA in the Bahamas. Unfortunately, the reputation that the locals are easygoing is seriously wrong!
They're pretty much all ignorant, grumpy fuckers (well the people that work in the hotel are) and that's all I can speak of, as I didn't venture too far from the card room. The Atlantis Hotel is pretty unreal though, it's an amazing resort. Although, after a few days I couldn't really give a fuck if I'm walking by an aquarium full of sharks, while on the way to pot.
Unfortunately the weather was pretty bad all week, bar a couple days when we got out to the pool, which was incredible. They had loads of slides and a lazy river, where you basically just go round in a ring through rapids and slides. Myself, John, the Pirat (Tony Rafter) and his girlfriend (Ciara) had great craic going around on them.
Myself and Ciara had sort of gone ahead a bit, so we were waiting for the other two beside one of the fast rapids sections. The two boys came flying down, trying to hang on, and of course discussing some hand histories!
The good part about the weather being bad was that it was a lot easier to pot, which was the plan for the trip anyway. I put in some good hours, with the average day consisting of a start at 8/9am (anyone who knows me will be calling that a bluff), play for couple hours online and then go down for a tourney until I busted.
Ended up playing seven tourneys in six days, ranging from $200 to $5k. I only cashed in one, which of course was a min cash in the $200 turbo. Pretty disappointing, but was very happy with how I played.
