Well, I have started back slowly and haven't been really playing any long or grueling sessions. Played about 8 x 2/3 hours sessions so far, playing mainly 2/4, 3/6 and half stacking 5/10 PLO.
I've been moving up/down between $3,5k and $2k. At the moment I'm down about $2k. The reason I'm playing short sessions is I don't feel mentally fit enough for the long sessions and prefer to build it up slowly. Once I'm in full flow, I will generally play 6-10 hour sessions.
I got off to a bad start, basically due to making mistakes, and lots of them. I struggle to get any more than 3 table 6 max and 2 table HU. As a result of dropping down stakes I thought I could 4 table which I wasn't great at and it definitely contributed to me making more errors and not picking up as many orphan pots (orphan pots refers to the pots where no one has anything and can be picked up easily with a bet), as I generally would.
As the week has gone on, they have come down in amount per session which is encouraging and also back to three-tabling.
I'm down in Kerry at the moment, spending a few days with the old pair. There's going to be doing a fair bit of golfing and grinding down here and will probably head back to Dublin early next week.
