Prop bets and the best slow roll I have ever seen!!!

20 May 2010 | Category: by: John O'Shea

I haven't being playing much poker at all lately, apart from one little session where I dropped $5k online. For the most part, I have been sorting out or working on prop bets for the summer.

I've been playing a lot of golf in preparation for my game with Mr Spillane in Vegas and am playing some half decent stuff, which has given me a bit of confidence that I can scoop the $2k.

I have a tennis bet with O'Dea for him to play me off his left hand (that's his bad hand, well I hope it is), so I'm getting out and playing a bit of tennis as well.

Did a side bet with Jason Tompkins, if he FT's one of his seven WSOP events, I have to ship him $4k, if we both FT a WSOP event, it's a push and if he doesn't FT at all, I ship $500.

Me and the DOC are sorting out a no booze weight loss bet for the month of June. When I did really well in Vegas last time I didn't booze and was working out every day, so I want to do the same again. There's talk of a few of the other lads coming in, which could make for a really juicy pot. When we sort it out, I will post the details.

Trying to keep my live eye in and played a bit in the Fitz, where the Medic got me with the best slow roll ever. I slow rolled him in a big pot a year ago. He promised revenge.

We were both all in, in a three way pot, a €5k main pot and €1k side pot between me and him. The board reads Unkown suit Q spade_9.gif Unkown suit 2, I show top two and keep the other two cards concealed, the other guy shows dry aces and Medic exposes Unkown suit K Unkown suit J Unkown suit 10 and keeps one concealed.

The turn is an spade_8.gif giving the Medic the nut straight but me a back door flush draw. Out comes the spade_3.gif. The bare aces folds, saying he can't beat a straight, I decide not to slow roll and very slowly exposed the spade_10.gif to go with my spade_9.gif for the flush.

Medic gives a bit of speech about how sick it is. The dealer is pushing the €6k pot my way, a bit of a crowd had gathered. Medic slowly turns over his remaining card, which is the spade_5.gif giving him a spade_jack.gif hi flush.

The crowd lets out a loud cheer, all that can be heard above the cheer is Medic roaring I waited a year to get you Johnny Boy, and to be fair, get me he did. It was the best roll I have ever seen, hopefully I can learn from it and use it in the future.
