The WSOP kicked off for me yesterday with the $1k NLH event. I just got a brief taste of it though, as I only lasted a total of four hands. I 'squeezed' the button with the King balls and was 4-bet by the original raiser.
I wouldn't be in the habit of folding kingers pre, especially versus a total unknown. So I shipped them in and he had the aces. Ah well, at least it was quick and let me get back to the pool.
I've settled in nicely here, with a real nice house and a really top group of lads. Everyone's focused and it has the makings of a great series for the house, and the Irish in general - with many more soldiers en route. The weather's so nice, it hasn't got that unbearable heat yet, so I'm enjoying it while it lasts.
Next stop is the $1,500 hold'em today. Hope I can improve on yesterday's performance. Ya gotta love the WSOP though. There really is an extra buzz about the place, more than any other tournament. I'm gonna try keep the updates more frequent while I'm here, hopefully discussing a few deep runs.
Went to Encore last night, an unbelievable club, if your in Vegas definitely go there, it's outrageous.
John's girlfriend and a couple of her mates are over. We went out midweek, which was madness, bantering around the casinos and assaulting the odd roulette wheel.
It was hilarious when we got back, I'd say it was about 45 seconds before everyone was in the pool. Speaking of which, I'm heading back to it. Also a free ice-cream for whoever knows where the titles come from...

Home Alone!!!
See you in 2 weeks! Gl before then
