... but fuck me, I still love it! I'm back in Vancouver after another unsuccessful visit to Nevada. I think I've a grand total of 20 tourneys in Vegas without a cash now, which is quite impressive.
Sure I was one for one when I cashed in the first WSOP I played. Vegas playing me like a tune really, giving me the taste for it when I was young and naive and now I'm hooked like a junkie scrambling for any cash.
Anyway enough of my moaning, as nobody really cares. The more interesting stories were the very impressive displays from the lads I was over with. Well most of the success came after I (the Grim Reaper apparently) left. I was doing a coolering job on the boys that Frank Hunt would have been proud of.
The 'balla' A Fallon scooped a tourney in the Venetian for a juicy $20k! 'The Butt' kept up his scary record in PLO tourneys with not one, but two second place finishes in the 1k re-buy in the Bellagio.
But if there's ever a man not to be shown up, it's Johnny O'Shea. He went down to the WPT Main Event satellite with Halibut needling him about passing him out on the Hendon Mob. Not only did he win the ticket to pass Dave out again, he went on to FT the fucking thing for $200k. Unbelievable achievement, in one of the toughest fields around. Great result John!
I'm back up in Vancouver for about a month before the big assault on the Series. Just going to grind online and try getting a profitable month in. I'm really looking forward to Vegas already. Decided I'm going to give it a proper shot this year and go for the whole series, so I'm heading down at the end of May.
There's a good Irish crowd going over and I really think it could be a big Series for the Irish. There's a lot of players at the peak of their game heading over. Sure last week just showed it with Jude and particularly Dermot going deep in San Remo (v wp) and John on the other side of the world in Vegas. So there's no reason there can't be a bracelet or two heading back to Ireland come July, or even better - November!!!

ha cheers Paul, Sums up vegas pretty well I think. There's no where else in the world where so many people go and do there bollix but still love the place..
