Welcome Back Rory

So it's been about a month since my last post, which ironically was about being professional in poker.

I'm not saying I have taken a month off or anything, but for a variety of reasons I probably haven't played as much as I think I should and I certainly haven't been doing enough blogging.

I think there are three reasons why this has been the case;
- The weather has been so sick and I've just been out enjoying it and living a somewhat more normal life. I find it extremely hard to play during the day if it's really nice out and even on those golden crisp evenings it's bright until 10ish, so I usually just can't bring myself to play.
- The internet connection in my house has been brutal, recently making it very hard to put in long and uninterrupted sessions. I have been playing on my Vodafone Lite stick, but again, that's not ideal. Although as I type there's an engineer drilling a new connection directly to my room, so I should be finally sorted now, I hope!
- I knew the ECOOP and Vegas where on the horizon, so I knew I'd be playing a fair bit of poker soon, so I kind of thought that a bit of time off would be no harm.

Anyway all those weak excuses aside, I've had a steady month - winning three out of the four weeks. With regards to the ECOOP, I only played as many events as John won - 2! I cannot over-emphasise what John has achieved here. Not only has he defended his Hi-Lo title from last year, but also won the $400 PLO event. I'm 100% sure that nothing like that will ever happen again and it's just so sick especially since I just missed the registration for the $400 PLO event. The important thing is that I'm not THAT bitter at his success, but I am that bitter that I didn't at least have a percentage, since I always seem to when he exits nice and early. It's genuinely sick stuff though, WD Johnny.

In other news, I won a main event package last night online worth $12k which was nice, since I was in for $3.5k in tournament buy-ins last night, so I badly wanted to get some sort of result somewhere. I obviously would have played the main event anyway, but this package is a nice comfort to have going over. This year I'm going to play the $5k and the $10k PLO events, as well as the Main Event and maybe one other or just a few non-WSOP tournaments. I think I'm going to head over on the 15th if anyone is going around then, get in touch (think myself and Dave Callaghan might be travelling together- if I can convince him not to go first class, the gimp).

Apart from that the diet, gym and tennis are all going moderately well, with some serious swings happening on the diet I must admit - screw it in fairness. The second part of this entry is going to be another PLO Hand Breakdown and will be on the Boylepoker blog on Wednesday, since the first one seemed popular enough.
