This is the Boylepoker team with the Jackpot's Mary Ellen after an epic battle which was Sunday's Boylepoker sponsored March Madness team event in the Jackpot.
The team consisted of myself, Paul, Ciaran and Pete "Guitar" Murphy. Unfortunately Gerry couldn't make it so Pete was kind enough to be our fourth.
We arrived at 3pm to check the branding and bring in the trophies and have a pre tourney strategy meeting, mostly consisting of me trying to swap percentages with all the others. I had a very definite strategy but seeing as its the only strategy I ever have, I'd better not say it here. The tourney kicked off at four, with 25 teams of four playing. The points you were given equated to your knock out position (I was knocked out in 35th place so I got 35 points) and the team with the least number of points would take the title.
I lasted a respectable amount of time, esp condering how tired I was after the Be Our Sponsored Pro live final the night before. I surrendered most of my chips on level 7 and was left with about 12 big blinds. By level 8 I was down to 10 big blinds which I was a little more comfortable with, as there's not much someone with my limited expertise can do in that situation, the decisions are a little easier. I ended up pushing all in on a 6 high flop with AK. This was an extremely stupid move considering Marty was the only other person in the pot and he wins everything. Ofc Marty called and showed Kings, which left me a little sliver of hope that I might spike an Ace. Yeah right. Exit Lisa.
I wasn't too bothered though because I did exit about a minute after Ciaran which meant I won €5 off him from a last longer bet (he wanted to bet €50 but I was too cheap and didn't fancy my odds).
Paul and Pete battled on and both final tabled, but I'm sure they will tell you about that themselves. We ended up winning the team event. Marty's team didn't place.
Thanks a million to everyone at the Jackpot for a great weekend :)
