I went out to Citywest the night before the WPT for the Super Sat.
It seems to be the only form of poker I win at these days. I managed to pick up a ticket as well as having great craic.
I opened up as we got near the tickets as everyone else closed up. With blinds and antes so big, my blind shoves were collecting chunks each hand. Soon enough everyone was short at my table except me. Just the way I like it, me playing God, fairly shite for everyone else and I ensured it was.
Some poor woman was down to 4 BB's and shoved. I was in the BB and I announced "Call, just cause I can", needless to say my bag of spanners sent her packing. It was a bit cruel but people need to learn that's what happens when you fold down to 4 BB's. I crushed a few more dreams before the bubble burst.
The Main Event started well but I was soon crippled in a big pot when I 3-bet bluffed a turn bet. The pot was pretty big at this stage as the flop was 3-bet.
The fucker 4-bet me and my balls deserted me in my hour of need and I folded ignoring my gut. He showed me the bluff of bottom pair which was winning but I was so tilted I didn't shove. I exited a while after, 5-bet shoving AJ into Toby Lewis's AA.
After a great start to the week in the sports I was up a mountain. Northampton got the job done on Friday night which I tipped up in my weekly Friday Blog which can be found on the Boylesports home page. It's a blog purely on sports betting so it's not in the poker section.
I was on the verge of opening the year with a 6 week after another winner on Saturday. I decided to stick with the tactic that served me well midweek, back City and oppose Utd. They met each other in the FA Cup and I was convinced this was another sign from the gods to get on City.
I dropped $30k on them and $15k on some other bets. It wasn't the dream opening but $25k was still a solid opener.
The only cards I will be playing this week will be with the family on a skiing trip in France.
I scooped last night's game for €8 euro. Pretty confident to clear €30 by the end of the week. We play a game called Shanghai high rummy. It's a pretty skillful game hence my dominance in it but it's also a lot of fun.
Skiing has been really nice and I am hoping this full week outdoors in the clear alpine air should cover my fresh air intake for the year. Check out the sports blog on Friday, as I hope to have a few more winners.
