Well, I've finally left Vegas. It's the same every year, after I bust the Main I just want out.
After a couple crazy nights out, I just can't wait to leave. We've made our way down to California for a couple weeks of R&R, (Razzing and Razzing??). I have no interest in playing poker down here, so it should be a nice break before going back to Vancouver.
Overall, it was a disappointing trip to Vegas poker-wise. I actually didn't loose much at all, but that was because of winning online. I'd be much happier if I won live and lost online, as it just seems like a waste of time going there. Not one cash and not even a bubble really, just couldn't get going in most tourneys.
I sort of got going in the Main Event actually, and was really happy with how I was playing. Had a field day on day 2 with a very soft table and at one point I was up to 170k, when the average was only about 70. Then lost a couple flips and finished on 93k for day 3.
I came back and didn't last a round at the table, which is pretty impressive playing 90 bigs. I played 9 hands, 4 pocket pairs and AQ and didn't win a pot. I then got squeezed from a big online winner on the button. I 4-bet and called his shove with 1010, unfortunately he had JJ. Maybe this was a bit too loose but I had underrepresented my hand, so sort of had to go with it.
We've had some great nights out here though, the best ones always ending up in O'Shea's Casino. It's such a great spot. They have beer bong down the back and it's always a great laugh!
The best has got to be the 1-2 NLH games though. The last night was hilarious. Ended up winning 2k in the game, when I could barely see a card. It was myself, Fallon and Doc hammering the pot button. My favourite pot was when I got to the river with AQ on an AAQxx board and there was about $80 in the pot. I shove in the 800 which he covers and turn to him and say, "You'd be the type of fucker to fold an ace here", to which he snap calls. I just go "nnnnnnnnuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuttttttttttttsssssssssss" and his face just drops, very funny altogether!
