Looking at the way the points are distributed, it seems to me that you want to have players who'll be competing in the events that will have small fields, like the stud, horse, etc.
To be honest, my five picks would be pretty similar to Nicky's, but since he got in first, I suppose I'll have to change them a bit - although I've still got two of his.
1. Phil Ivey: I don't really think I need to explain my thinking behind this one. Best player in the world, plays all games, doesn't need to worry about bankroll restrictions or sneaking into the cash.
2. Jeff Lisandro: Plays all the stud events and other events that will have small fields. Never played with the guy, but you can't argue with three bracelets in one year.
3. Andy Black: Great NLH player. Not sure how good he is at stud and horse, but he'll play as many events as he can find time for, and he's the kind of guy that will be trying to build big stacks and make final tables rather than hang in for the money.
4. Patrik Antonius: Again, plays all games and is one of the best in the world. How Nicky went first and didn't pick this guy, I'll never know.
5. John O'Shea: Just edges out Doyle and Tom Dwan for my last pick. Great NLH and PLO player. In great form. Plays a bit of horse and hi-lo too, so hopefully he might give those a lash. I heard he just bought a book on stud as well. Bit of a controversial pick I suppose, but he's a controversial guy and I doubt anyone else will have him in their team.

i know he won't play as many events as some, but pretty sure he'll play most of the big 10k + events, which barring the main event, get fairly small fields.
