Mission accomplished!

On Thursday, I played the same tourneys again which didn't go to well. I never really got a run in any of them, but on the plus side, I was starting to run good in the cash games so I stuck to the $1-$2 games. I had a very profitable day and was stacking people left, right and centre.

It felt great to start to run good again. I was winning nearly all my important flips and my big hands were holding up. I ended up the day with $7,500, so a $1,400 profit on the day was my 4th good day in a row.

I woke up on Friday feeling the worse for wear, my throat was swollen and I just didn't feel in the mood for doing too much. But after some dinner and lots of water I was ready for more grinding. I decided that I would play about 10 MTTS and one good result could take me over the finish line.

I was playing a few cash games at the same time as I was waiting on a few of them to start, but I was running bad again and was down a few buy ins. I seemed to donk out of all my tourneys pretty early apart from the $10 rebuy with 1,500 runners. I never really noticed how deep we were getting until I saw there was about 100 left and I was already in the money.

Top prize was just over $8k and if I came 3rd I would make the 10k. I managed to get to the final table and I can honestly say it's the craziest final table I have ever played, which meant I had no moves except to wait for a hand.

With four left I jammed with A9hh and was called by 89dd and the board flushes for a chop. I then regrettably shoved the button with Q9 into AQ and I was gone in 4th leaving me $800 short of my target.

At this stage I was still in the $7.5k deepstack and a top four place would also get me to my target. Although I made the final table, I was always pretty short and lost a race and $100 which didn't help too much.

I took a short break and it was back to the cash tables to get over the line, this started bad with me dropping two buy ins, but I grinded back and found some very soft games. I was getting very close to the target and I get AA v KK to get within touching distance but the butcher on the flop ended that.

I didnt let it bother me and the last hand I played I was $30 short and I raised J9ss and got called by the BB. The flop comes AJ rag with two spades and he check raises me so I decide to gamble with my pair and flush draw and get it in against his AJ, not what I wanted to see but I BINGED the spade on the river and that was that. Never in doubt really!!!! :) SHIPPAGE!!!!

At the start of the week with $1,900 balance, I really had very little hope of getting it done within the time frame but five long days later I finally managed to get there. Not a bad week's work either, $8k profit :)

I think I might go for a beer or two tonight, oh and I forgot to mention I won a satellite to the $250k gtd tomorrow, so who knows I might have a lot more than 10k by Wednesday!!! The way I have been running this week I expect a good showing here.

I'd like to thank everyone for their support, all the Boylepoker team and my friends and family for keeping a keen interest on how I was getting on. Made me really wanna meet my target and I am overjoyed to have done so.

Thanks also to PokerSwat for use of their site, which I learned a lot from especially in the MTTs where I seem to have most of my success.

Congrats Pete, brilliant work. I've managed to find you at 225/1 for the open next week. Not a bad bet the way your MTT's are going.

SWEET TO THE BEAT SKEET! As i said in my post winning phonecall - " What would Jigs do? ". I agree with Michael's point he made above my entry - a lads night out to celebrate should deffo be on the cards? Any Friday or Sunday would suit Boyle but since its for you big guy, Ill even head out of a Saturday!

Has the minister for finance been on yet about the 2 billion murphymultiplier?

Yes Padraig, but we told him he'd have to put up the original $100 and he quicly backed out.
