Murphy Multiplier x2 - Boylepoker Blog

So since I came back from Vegas I have been pretty much grinding online trying to pay for my rather expensive excursion. I've been running pretty good when I have been playing to be honest.

Paul had been on about a new challenge for me to do and he'd thought up of a few ideas but I didn't fancy the thoughts of going back to play $2 buy-in and 2c4c cash - I hope those days are long behind me. I then thought up this idea, so I can start at although still relative small scale stakes - still a somewhat meaningful amount of money at the beginning.

The last challenge was very stressful especially at the start of it, but it did get me focused and made me play a lot more, so although I have been playing a good bit of late, I'm still not doing the amount of hours I should be and hopefully this will get me back on track to play a lot more hours per week.

The task at hand starting with $1k and getting to $40k, is going to be a lot tougher than the last one and there's a good chance I'll go bust. I haven't really planned what to play yet but it will be similar to the last one, trying to get a few MTT results and move up in the cash stakes.

It will also help my game as hopefully as time goes by in the next few months and my bankroll increases, I will be playing rather meaningful stakes and hope to be playing $5-$10 by the end. Unless of course I luckbox my way into the Monthly Million and take it down.

I will be using a similar bankroll management system i.e. 15-20 buy-ins for the game or probably more in MTTs, as I can't really use proper bankroll management due to time constraints. It's just about a week until it starts, so I better start planning my attack on the Boylepoker website. I will be posting regularly here for anyone that is interested. GL me!!

Sorry guys i only played a few hours and then made the long trip to killarney and didnt get bak home until tuesday due to stoppin of in dublin on the drive home fo a nite. I will be doin some hard graft over the next few weeks to compensate :)

Well my plan at the start is to play cash and a few mtts, i dont particularly like sngs and only played them last time as a way to increase my roll pretty quickly at the low stakes.

Thanks for all the good lucks, i hope to move up the levels pretty quickly due to playing a lot of tables but i need to run pretty good which i am fortunately used to :) My target for the first month is to be playing $1/$2 cash by the end and all goin well should have a decent roll then to keep moving up.

Best of Luck Mr. Murphy ...I look forward to this again and I do think with the larger BR at start you will be off and running quicker this time...although I do think its gonna be a hard target as grinding up playing $50 cash will take a good few hrs unless you can score a good mtt cash and jump levels quickly.....
Will you be playing as many SNG's this time at start?

Best of luck again Peter. Tougher task ahead but I recon you will do it. It should be easier to be focused with the higher stakes though. Is it over 10 weeks again?

BTW I'll try my best not to win $400k and scupper it for you ;)

This challenge is much easier than last one for obv reasons. anyone who is 'good' at poker could do this. its just about volume. I would only be impressed if you did this by playing ONLY cash or ONLY sngs and moving up the levels as you build your bankroll. Even then tho its pretty simple for a good player like yourself. just requires volume
