Things have been going pretty good for the past week, despite a bit of a set back over the weekend. I won the $20k gtd for $6k on Thursday night after multiple suck outs.
The most memorable was 4bet shoving
on the button against a decent player in the BB with the King balls, but they were obviously no good after my river binkage. We were approaching the bubble and both in the top three in chips, so that set me right up for the rest of the tournament.
I am sure you all have noticed the new tables at Boylepoker - I still don't know what to think of them. I also had some problems getting hold'em manager to work because the hands were not importing and this only got sorted out on Sunday.
I didn't play too much cash over the weekend as it's a major disadvantage not using hold'em manager when the rest of the regs are. In the small bit I did play I think I managed to lose $1,500 at 2-4 and 3-6, so I decided to leave it until I got my HUD back working.
On Sunday, I forgot to try some sats to the million tourney but I thought I might as well give it a go and bought into it, along with another few decent tourneys. I got off to a good start, winning a few small pots until I flopped middle set v top set and that was that. A bit sick for it to happen in this tourney, but not much I could do there. This set the tone for the rest of the night and resulted in zero cashes.
Played a mixture of tourneys and cash on Monday, four tourneys in all. Came 10th in one for $270, then managed to bubble one making a crazy bluff on the river, before securing a solid second place in another for $1,200, so not a bad night's work.
Sunday's tourneys put a bit of a dent in my roll but I thought it was worth the risk. My balance is at $21,500 so I just need a double up between now and the end of January, which is three weeks away meaning I need to average $6k a week from here on in.
